Wonderful news for cat-loving children aged 6-9 years old!
During the month of May, we will be offering a Children’s Course every Saturday morning for children aged 6-9 years old to become certified child visitors and accompany an adult on visits to the cat café. Completion of the course grants an exemption from the age limit rule of 10 years.
During the course, children will learn about how cats function, how to read a cat’s mood, how to best get a cat’s attention, and how to play with a cat in a respectful manner that doesn’t stress the animal. After completing the course and passing the assessment, children are welcome to enjoy cat cuddles and fika, and they will receive a diploma and a pin to wear on future visits!
The course is 1 hour long, with 30 minutes of theory and 30 minutes spent with the cats in the lounge. There is space for 8 children at each session, and the cost is 249 SEK. We kindly ask that parents do not participate in the course.

To become a certified Child Visitor, we follow these criteria:
- The child listens to and follows instructions from the course leader.
- The child follows Java Whiskers house rules.
- If the child makes a mistake, they will receive a warning.
On the THIRD warning, the child will unfortunately not be approved as a child visitor. - If the child is not approved but wants to give it another try, they will receive a 25% discount on the course fee.
